Real Madrid announces new coach to replace Zidane
Julen Lopetegui |
Real Madrid has affirmed Spain mentor Julen Lopetegui as Zinedine Zidane's successor, the 51-year-old assuming control Los Blancos after the World Cup.
The veteran supervisor has marked a three-year bargain at the Bernabeu, weeks in the wake of broadening his agreement with the Spanish national side to the finish of the 2020 European Championships.
Lopetegui is one of not very many players to highlight for both Real Madrid and Barcelona in his club profession, and trained Los Blancos' B group around 10 years prior.
Talking only three weeks prior in the wake of marking his new Spain get, the previous Porto supervisor stated: "I'm thankful for the certainty set in me and in my staff.
"I wasn't losing any rest seeing another agreement as we as a whole realize that football is unverifiable. We are extremely content with what we have done as such far. We've worked hard the previous two years and we will keep on doing so."
Lopetegui's last club work saw him assume responsibility of Porto, being soothed of his obligations after only year and a half in the wake of dropping out of the Champions League gather stage and driving the club to simply third place in the association at the turn of the year.
His exclusive club work before that was a concise spell at Rayo Vallecano in 2003, having spent the majority of the most recent decade skimming around the Spain setup – right now overseeing Real stars Isco, Dani Carvajal, Marco Asensio, Nacho, Sergio Ramos and Lucas Vazquez, every one of whom are in Spain's World Cup squad.
